Blood Rose Rebellion

Here is a pretty short review from a while back.  I need to work on these super-succinct reviews!  I will try to elaborate a little bit:  this book is about a young girl who is different (YA trope, I know).  Her family was born into magic, which also means they were born into wealth and power.  Our heroine was not, however, and so is an embarrassment to the family.  After ruining her sister's come-out ball (yes, it is mid-1800's England), she is sent away to Hungary.  There the book kind of picks up steam, where our heroine meets revolutionaries, gypsies, and strange family members.  I enjoyed it, and would be interested in reading the next installment.  But there definitely better-written YA Fantasy books out there.
Here's my original review:

This was a good read. It did have problems--it seemed disjointed, almost like 2 or even three different books. When the author got in a groove it was a good book. But I think she had a hard time getting there.
