Reese was born with Williams Syndrome. In brief, Williams Syndrome is caused by the deletion of about 27 genes on the 7th chromosome. It causes things like distinctive facial features, developmental delays and learning disabilities, poor motor skills, small stature, and a very friendly personality.
Reese was an amazing little girl and I feel very blessed to have been her momma. She believed that she was everyone's friend, no matter who they were, what they looked like, or--most importantly--how they treated her. She had no prejudice, because her brain was literally incapable of having those feelings.
I miss her everyday, but I strive to follow her example and Love Like Reese.
